RYNEK
Wroclaw’s Medieval market square is one of the largest in Europe and the third in size in Poland. It is home to numerous tasty eateries, souvenir shops, social celebrations, annual Christmas markets and of course it being in Wroclaw - a respectable share of the city's bronze dwarves. Pastel coloured buildings line up the cobblestone streets of the market square and invite you to explore every nook and cranny. Don’t just look at things as they are - look up and down for the details for they most certainly will include a dwarf or a company thereof. Dive into the neighbouring streets and soon you will find yourself dwarf hunting. They are everywhere - waving guitars, driving, calculating, reading ancient literature, defending the constitution, carrying suitcases, firehosing, proposing marriage, pouring each other a drink. It may become an exhausting activity. Luckily if you have any Eastern roots you will find yourself a place to rest easily as you will naturally understand the purpose of many establishments. The café next to the library for example is called Literatka. You can grab a drink at the aptly called Pijalnia wódki i piwa or at the Witaminka cocktail bar and so on. Be careful if you are Bulgarian though: the regional izba* is not what you think. Have you hopped on the next low cost flight there already? Come on, grab your furry boots and go, you know you want to. The dwarves are waiting!
*Izba, Polish: chamber. Изба, Bulgarian: cellar. As in wine cellar.
