THE SUMMER VIBES OF GHENT
One of these days I should head to Ghent for a proper visit of several days. I seem to be always breezing through the town and I'm always left wanting more, even more so now in summer when the evenings are a perpetual sunset and you can easily roam the streets unil the early hours of the morning and still feel like you just had dinner. Luckily the city offers plenty of sightseeing and entertainment. It's a very unique mixture of ancient and modern at the same time: one moment you are enjoying an urban graffiti tunnel, next moment you feel like a gargoyle is going to fly out of a particularly dark corner of a medieval building. Charmingly decorated bars line up the canals, cute tiny terraces pop above the water at every corner, boats whizz by filled to the brim with overly excited tourists. And it's a culinary delight to visit Ghent as well - Belgium's trademark fries, waffles and chocolates will take care of your waist and hips at every hour!
