Flower City Square
If you are looking for a futuristic, inspiring, sustainable urban environment that can create a sense of tranquility amidst a buzzing megapolis, Flower City Square would be it. Created for the Asian Games of 2010, the largest square of Guangzhou is around 2 km long and 250 m wide - a space of luscious greenery with its own microclimate where you can stroll, run, dance or wind down with the sounds of beautiful music. Underneath the park are 150 000 square metres of commercial space - the shopping complex Mall of the World - as well as a metro line connecting the square with other parts of the city. Throughout Flower City Square you can enjoy views of the 600 m high Canton Tower - the second tallest tower in the world. You can easily spend days hunting for the perfect viewing spot - do you prefer a water-reflected view? Or maybe the classic floor-lit light show version is more to your taste? Check them all and keep hunting, or book a visit to the top of the Canton tower - there you can see it all aligned in a single line and enjoy the open-air view together with a Bubble tram ride at the same time. Because what self-respecting tower wouldn't have its own tram on top?
