BAMBERG
Bamberg is one of those places that make you wonder which country you are in. Sure, the multitude of breweries serving exotic beer varieties are bound to tip you off on your geographical whereabouts, but as you walk along the narrow streets in the centre you hardly ever hear German language around you. Add to that the culinary variety of restaurants serving Italian pasta and pizzas, Asian noodles, Indian curries and Spanish paellas and you are suddenly wondering what kind of a multicultural bubble you landed in. As I set off for my photo walk it started to snow. Some people smiled and hugged under umbrellas for their strolls through the beautfully lit streets, others snuggled closely at the Christmas stands with Glühwein and chestnuts, and still others pulled out their digital devices to try and capture the magic.
