Autumn Glows
Do you know the lovely town of Zlatograd? It's a place that frequently shows up in my photography as I hold it very dear to my heart. Close to Zlatograd you will find mount St. Nedelya - a location described by the older Zlatograd natives as the summer vacation spot back in the days when the Greek coast was not just a couple of hours away*. Housing is available where you can spend the night, as well as two public kitchens for all your barbeque needs. A chapel commemorating the monastery which used to be located at the peak during the Ottoman occupation is still the home of a book full of legends and a service in July on the day of Saint Nedelya. The road uphill is particularly picturesque and quiet in autumn, so mountain lovers, don't forget to head up there next time you're in town.
*The slightly younger Zlatograd natives may remember "Svetokata" for totally different reasons...
