A Xanthi Christmas
When it comes to Christmas decorations there is one simple rule that always saves the day: there is no such thing as enough lights. It seems like Xanthians stand by this rule as well since restaurants and cafés twinkle seductively at every corner. I say seductively because they are so many (and so tasty) that if by any chance you have not gained enough winter plumpness at family meals during the holidays, you most definitely can do so here: a Chocolate Corner here, a Mezebar there, you can hibernate for at least three winters should you succumb to culinary temptations. Of course you are welcome to explore soulful delights as well during your trip - music and theatre performances, museums and galleries are plenty, just scout around for posters and don’t rely too much on the internet. With Bulgarian - Greek borders melting away this January, Xanthi is ever so appealing for a tasty day away from home or a stopover. Dieting in advance is strongly advised.
