A Moscow Afternoon
My annual visit to Moscow was lit by a warm glow of sunshine this time around - who would have guessed? I'm sure some time during the year Moscow has warm weather but my trips always happen in winter so it was a first for me. Tourists and locals were cruising the streets smiling, enjoying the sun and exploring all possible selfie angles. So uncharacteristically warm it was that even Stalin was showing signs of discomfort under his heavy winter coat while waiting for the latest tourist to snap a picture with him. The still fairly fresh Park Zaryadye draws much of the crowds these days too with its floating bridge over the river and art and culinary delights. Not that there is any risk of you remaining hungry with the grill and multicultural delicacies at the stands at the Revolution Square... Next time you head to Moscow, check the forecast - there's a certain charm in walking on sunshine.
